- Window View - Ric looks out at Fulton Street from the second floor of Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, in Lawrence, MA. This was the first photograph taken for the series.

Read the 1st and 2nd Eagle-Tribune Ric Blake storys by Marjory Sherman that goes with this image.

Ric's comments - When Cheryl took this first photo of the series, I could not have imagined what would happen in the next year. I often question if I had known how hard the journey would be, would I have taken the first step.

Diane's comments - "Ric, you are thoughtful, considerate, inspiring and courageous. I will be forever grateful for your commitment to share our journey through the newspaper series. As you once wrote to me, "In the end what matters is that we loved each other, traveled together, laughed, cried and made a difference. I wouldn't change a second." Thank you, Ric, for being you."
